Self-Assessment Modules
ASTRO continues to strive to meet the educational needs of its members. ASTRO designates these educational activities for 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and 1 SAM credit. Our online offerings are qualified by the American Board of Radiology in meeting the criteria for self-assessment toward the purpose of fulfilling requirements in the ABR Maintenance of Certification Program.
ASTRO’s online SAM offerings are listed by content area below. Each course will be available for a period of three years from the date of qualification.
Course Details
Each course is approximately 90 minutes in length and are presented in a synchronized audio and PowerPoint format. Courses are available for one year from the purchase date, or until the course expires. Course expiration dates are available in the details section of each course. Members are responsible for taking course expirations dates into consideration when purchasing and completing courses.
Technology Requirements
The hardware/software requirements for these courses are as follows: Windows 2000 or newer, Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, free Flash plug-in, Internet connection (broadband recommended), speakers or sound card.
Credit Designation
ASTRO’s Red Journal CME offerings are developed in accordance with the ACCME requirements for continuing education and ASTRO designates these online educational activities for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity.
All SAM's are qualified by the American Board of Radiology in meeting the criteria for self-assessment toward the purpose of fulfilling requirements in the ABR Maintenance of Certification Program. The American Society for Radiation Oncology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Target Audience
This program is designed to meet the interest of the radiation oncologists, radiation oncology residents, radiation biologists, radiation physicists, dosimetrists, oncologists working in related specialties, radiation therapists, radiation oncology nurses, radiation oncology administrators and all other health professionals involved in the field of radiation oncology.
